Double Bay House
Architect: Luigi Rosselli
An existing heritage listed property provided a challenge to meld ‘old’ with ‘new’. Difficult site conditions required the hand excavation of 300m3 of rock to provide for a library room over looked by a fully tiled swimming pool and pool house set at the very top of the site some 17 meters above street level.
Internal finishes consisting of waxed walls, stone and timber floors, mosaic tiles to bathrooms and extensive use of random sandstone to external walls have combined to produce this stunning result, a winner of a number of architectural awards.
